Walker and Christie may both have their political careers derailed by ongoing scandals.

Scott Walker

Walker’s Relationship To The Emails Complicates Attempts To Run For President. According to the Washington Post, “Wisconsin Gov. Scott Walker, who has had his eye on a 2016 presidential run since his battles with labor unions made him a Republican star, is dealing with the fallout of two criminal investigations at home that could complicate his move to the national stage. One is ongoing, and although the other is closed and found no wrongdoing by Walker, it has the potential to embarrass him.” [Washington Post, 2/19/14]

Chris Christie

Christie’s Chances For 2016 Were Damaged By Bridge Scandal. According to New York Magazine, “To a non-Republican, Christie’s post-Sandy personal embrace of Obama in 2012, his issue deviations on Obamacare and guns, and his potentially large number of scandals look like separate problems. To a Republican voter, they are many aspects of the same thing: a man who can’t be trusted. Anything can happen, but the combination of obstacles appears, at the very least, far greater than most analysts are figuring at the moment, and at the most, completely insurmountable.” [New York Magazine, 1/8/14]
